Blown Glass Installation at the Royal Botanical Gardens by artist Dale Chihuly

Chihuly’s exquisite glass creations blur the line between art and craft.  Influenced by his mother’s gardens from his Tacoma, Washington childhood, Chihuly’s glass sculptures use the natural world as inspiration for form and color.  He often installs collections of his work in botanical gardens and even floats his priceless art on Venetian canals and English ponds.  There is a stunning video of his Venice installation that highlights the amazing look of his sculptures lit up at night.  They seem to glow with a light of their own.  For an excellent, comprehensive resource on this living artist’s legacy, visit:
